Grape Expectations is a family run, independant Wine Merchants

We specialise in personally chosen wines that exude character and above all FLAVOUR. Our wines are not generally available in the high street and all have been tasted and chosen for quality and 'value-for-money' rather than being widely available but boring or a "Supermarket Special".

We are very passionate about our wines and like to provide as much (or as little) information about them as you wish to take on board. Each wine has a personal description as displayed in our shop, followed by the suppliers information for more detail and then any background information I think may be of interest. If you have questions or would like a recommendation, come and talk to us.

Home Grown and Local

We also offer a selection of local Ales and ciders, sourced for they individuality, flavour and because they are LOCAL to us!  We believe in supporting local businesses, who in turn support us.

Learn about Wine

We offer a bi-monthly Wine School, where you are given a basic introduction to wines, how to taste, how to recognise key grape varieties plus how to match food and wine. It's just great fun!

Alternate months we offer an 'in house' tasting of new, interesting wines or the opportunity to meet one of our suppliers for an in depth insight into the back ground of their chosen wines. Always supported by a selection of home made food.
